It is not a 501(c)3 charity.
Who are the Members? ITA has over 700 companies as members of the organization.
How is ITA funded?
ITA is funded by the members of the association and the community. It does not receive funding from the state or federal government for general operations. It does from time-to-time take funding from government in support of specific programs for the community.
What is the governance for ITA?
ITA is actively overseen by an experienced Board of Directors,
representing successful start-up businesses, academia, and large
multinational companies. The expertise of the Board of Directors ensures
the association creates a definitive offering of collaboration,
leadership, and support to the growing start-up and medium sized
business community in Illinois. The ITA is grateful to this committed
group of professionals who offer their leadership actively to member
companies as well as the staff of the ITA.
Do you have to be a member to participate in ITA events and programs?
ITA welcomes the participation of all members of the community in ITA programs and events but does designate between members and non-members companies. Most events have a non-member price to participate if a company chooses not to become a member of ITA. In other programs, such as ITA’s monthly roundtables, individuals are encouraged to “try before they buy” and can attend events before we request that they become members of ITA. As ITA is primarily funded by the dues and sponsorship of ITA member companies, membership is important to the development and longevity of the association. ITA works diligently to provide value to those companies that desire to participate.
Where is ITA located?
ITA is located in
TechNexus, a clubhouse, conference center and incubator, developed by the ITA in partnership with several local entrepreneurs. The facility is located in the Chicago loop
