The ITA Fall Challenge actively addresses the need for technology talent to grow the Illinois economy. Illinois has the 6th largest technology talent gap in the nation, with more open positions than available qualified talent. While the local and regional universities nurture and train some of the most talented people in technology, we lose far too many of them to other areas of the country. Developing an awareness of the many opportunities available right here in Illinois, the ITA Fall Challenge makes the introduction between students and industry.
As a community of technologists, businesses, and organizations, the need for technology talent must be addressed actively to ensure a conduit of leaders for the future. We encourage you to get your organization involved in the ITA Fall Challenge and support the ongoing growth of the local technology industry.
The ITA Fall Challenge Leadership Board is charged with developing an ongoing communication between industry and education; ensuring graduates have the skills employers are seeking. Civic organizations and government leaders will gain critical insights to the decision making process of students and companies, using this information to continue to position Chicago and Illinois as a technology industry hub. Organizations supporting the Fall Challenge are invited to join the leadership board.
ITA is proud to have the support of the Illinois Innovation Council and welcomes other civic and government organizations. We hope you will too.
