Throughout the year, ITA offers many events (ITA Events Calendar) that bring the Illinois technology industry together to learn about new ideas, share common issues and challenges, collaborate with one another to drive business and network. ITA Chairman’s Dinners
This bi-monthly dinner hosted by ITA’s Chairman offers a group of 40-50 CEO’s the chance to hear exclusively from industry experts on current industry topics. As a small group setting, local C-level executives and thought leaders can share ideas and robust dialogue on a single topic. The dinners are invitation-only and are designed to maximize debate among the participants. Past topics have included Software as a Service and Enterprise Mobility and Selling into the Department of Homeland Security.
ITA Strategy Series
The strategy series focuses on key issues and trends affecting technology business leaders today. The Strategy Series brings together a group of experienced panelists to learn by delving into subjects that will help drive business forward. Topics discussed in the strategy series include trends, evolving business models and go to market strategies new opportunities to name just a few. The events are targeted broadly to executives and parties interested in where the industry is going.
ITA Tactics Series
This series focuses on the “brass tacks” you need to know to grow as a business. This series brings together senior technology executives to exchange ideas on critical business tactics. The events are targeted to executives interested in how they grow their business today and making sure they come away with new ideas. The event is restricted to technology executives; NO service providers except the sponsor are allowed to attend.
ITA Technology Briefing Series
Ever wonder about the specifics of some new technology or new market segment? The Technology Briefing Series provides participants with information on how specific industry segments are shaping up and where they are going. These programs feature an industry expert as well as a number of companies providing technologies in those areas. The events are targeted to technology executives and financial executives interested in new market segments.
ITA Luncheon Legal Series
The bi-monthly luncheon legal provides real valuable legal advice to participants on critical legal issues in the industry. This bimonthly program is hosted by a Chicago area law firm and touches on topics such as IP protection, patents, licensing, options and equity and taxes.
ITA Tech Talk: Shaping Policy Series
With over $5 billion in technology exports that represent roughly 210,000 jobs, the technology industry plays a critical role in the Illinois economy. It is therefore equally critical to ensure that our elected officials fully understand the significance of the software and technology industries in Illinois. This quarterly series brings key local, state and national policymakers for a frank and open dialogue on current issues.
ITA Networking Receptions
Is their more to business than business? ITA members enjoy numerous social networking opportunities that allow them to build relationships, meet potential clients and learn about the trends and developments in the industry. Networking receptions are held at various venues throughout the Chicago area.
ITA Speaking of Success Series
Introducing the technology entrepreneurs of Chicago to the lessons learned by the regions most successful technology entrepreneurs in an open town hall interview format. This quarerly series is targeted toward C-level executives.

Speed Networking Night
Much like the concept of speed dating, Speed Networking attempts to initiate a spark between new contacts that could develop into long and successful business relationships. Our first Speed Networking event is scheduled for January 2008. This format is well suited for smaller groups of less than 100 participants, so expect this event to fill up fast.
ITA CityLIGHTS Awards Gala
The CityLIGHTS Awards Gala is ITA’s annual celebration of vitality and innovation in the high technology community. CityLIGHTS is a chance for us to recognize some of the leading companies and individuals in our community whose innovation and success are driving change in Illinois. It is also an opportunity for members to connect with all the key players in the region for an evening of dining, socializing, fun and celebration. This event is held in the spring of each year. ITA Annual Golf Tournament
This annual summer event allows members of the technology industry to enjoy a day at the greens as well as giving them the opportunity to network and meet new industry contacts. This is an all day event with a dinner to follow.
ITA Member and Partner Events
With the size and scope of the technology industry in Illinois, ITA is not the only one presenting ideas. ITA Members and Partner Organizations regularly put together seminars and programs that bring the industry together to be informed and educated. ITA works with members to support the development of their programs and invite the community to participate. Additionally, ITA works with national partner organizations to provide ITA members with discounts on programs around the country.
