Who are the founders of your company? What are your company roots?
PSC was founded in 1990 by Andrew Lauder and Bruce Bellak and started as Precision Systems Concepts Inc. They began developing the reputation of providing two things to their clients; elegant system architecture, and having great customer relationships. That has been the PSC mantra ever since. It's in our DNA. Great talent, passion, and people. 100% honesty internally and with our clients. People first. That is how we retain the best talent in our consultants and have unparalleled client retention. We provide quality, trustworthy experiences, and help companies solve their business problems with technology.

Are you a Start-Up or Growth Phase company?
Growth Phase

In 25 words or less, what are you all about?
PSC Group is an information-technology and professional services consulting firm that solves business problems.

What problem do you solve?
With PSC, we match the right people and technology with the right problem, creating the best possible solution for specific business needs. We take operational and technical inefficiencies and develop technology solutions that will take companies to the next level.

How did you get started?
PSC began in 1990 as early leaders in the development of custom IT solutions. Our company was among the first of the IT consulting firms selected as business partners by firms such as Microsoft and IBM. We have evolved, over time, with our clients and our industry while our philosophy has remained constant. Our focus is on business - on the strategies and solutions that enable our clients to capture the full potential of the digital revolution that is redefining the way people work, shop and communicate.

What makes your company special? How is your product differentiated in the eye of the consumer?
We establish a different kind of relationship with our clients. We listen to their problems from an unbiased perspective and partner with them as an extension of their business. We have very smart, talented consultants that are also very gifted programmers and business analysts.

We take the time to truly understand their business so that we can develop practical solutions. That is where we generate the trust that keeps our clients consistently coming back to us. We have the experience to understand what they are going through, and how technology can affect their overall business as well as their culture. Our consultants work efficiently independently, in teams with other PSC employees, other consulting companies, or client employees. Each consultant supports our PSC values to develop the best solution for your business needs with quality unlike any other. With PSC, it's truly all in the way we listen.

How do you make money? Who are your primary customers and why do they choose you?
We target market leaders. We find that our best clients are companies that invest in technology for their business rather than just spend money on technology. We have developed a virtuous circle that we call the PSC Ecosystem, where great clients, great projects, and great consultants are equally vital towards our growth. It is important to us that we have a healthy balanced relationship with our people, solutions, and clients. Each element is equally important to our success, and the success of our clients.

Companies choose to work with PSC because we have the experience necessary to modernize their technologies to fit into the way they do business. We listen and connect with our clients before they sign anything, and we deliver. Every time.

Work Hard/Play Hard or The Early Bird Gets The Worm?
We obtain the best talent here at PSC by simply providing our people with projects they enjoy. Our consultants are experts at solving problems and developing innovative solutions. They love their jobs, and we make sure that we continue to provide them with projects they enjoy working on and with clients that enjoy working with them. We love what we do, and to us, work is play. Technology is evolving so quickly, and we are consistently known for being the first to implement new technologies with our clients. Staying on top of business trends and understanding the future as it is progressing is what we do best. We reward employees for their efforts and it's important that we show our appreciation to the people that make us great, and the families that stand behind them.

What’s the #1 thing on your to-do list?
Continue to find the best talent in the Chicagoland area to work on the exciting projects and grow with our clients to maintain our balanced PSC Ecosystem. We will continue to provide the quality in consulting services that we do with our clients, and with even more clients.

What are your dreams for your company?
Consistent with our philosophy, the dream of PSC is to help our employees achieve their aspirations, our clients achieve their goals and for all those who put their trust in us to find a good friend willing to help them.

It’s our kind of town too, but what are the advantages of being a Chicago-based technology company?
Chicago is the greatest city in the world. Not only because there is an abundant amount of business opportunity, but also because it is filled with great people. We love that our business runs with Midwest style. We are fast, but friendly. Smart, but modest. Talented and hard-working.

It’s one of the only cities where you can share innovation with some of the most well respected companies in the world over a hot dog at Wrigley on a sunny afternoon.

What trends do you see heading into 2012 that are relevant to your industry and your company?
Collaboration within organizations is a hot topic these days with social networking sites changing the way people communicate with each other. With the consumerization of IT, businesses are looking for the best way to adapt to the social culture that is becoming more and more common, and utilizing it within their organizations to encourage collaboration, better communication, and innovation. We have entered a new realm of how businesses run, and application modernization is what we see most often as a need in our clients.

What’s your #1 need going forward… other than funding and customers?
Keeping the balance of great clients, people, and projects is important to our continual expansion. Looking into the future, we need to be sure that we focus our efforts equally in every aspect of this ecosystem, and that means ensuring that we find the right people to grow with us as our client base increases.

What are the biggest challenges you are facing in scaling your business up?
We are continually growing through our lasting relationships and word of mouth, but we would love to utilize marketing more efficiently to develop a stronger presence online as well as in the Chicagoland area. We have the expertise to assist businesses in growing with better efficiencies, and we think it’s time to start sharing our knowledge. Talking about ourselves is a new challenge for us, and we are excited to start communicating in the marketplace.

This one is all you… Anything else you want to tell us?
It’s all in the way we listen.
