The 18th Annual ITA CityLIGHTS Awards were presented to an electrified sold-out crowd last week. The Chicago Bucket Boys, stars of every rush-hour train platform, signaled the start of the festivities before an acoustic rendition of Kanye’s “All of the Lights” kicked things into high-gear as the intro reel for the awards began. The room was abuzz throughout the night with nearly 600 attending, The incredible competition this year also made the lists of finalists look like a veritable who’s who of Second City tech. Because, truly, 2017 was a milestone year for Chicago tech, and like a red line train running express to downtown, the momentum could be felt all-around. In some cases the votes were very tight and as in years past, they were all deserving in our books but someone had to win.
