In 25 words or less, what is EMPIST all about?
EMPIST is a catalyst for innovation. We work to establish personal relationships with clients to ensure that they are getting the best-fit solutions.
What problem do you solve and how do you address it better than the competition?
Unlike many other IT solutions providers, EMPIST is an MSP or Managed Services Provider. We don't just cover bits, and pieces of IT needs, we cover it all. Moreover, we cover it all 24/7/365. We are all about proactive strategy instead of merely being reactive. We make it possible for companies to reduce the risk of costly downtime and other IT headaches by providing solutions that alert them to potential problems before they happen, allowing time to address issues quickly and efficiently. At the same time, we ensure top-notch network security and multiple cloud options. We’re the IT triple threat!
Combined with our Digital Marketing Agency, EMPIST offers a vast array of services between IT and Marketing/Web Development, making us an all-in-one resource for a variety of business needs.
How did you get started?
We initially began as an IT services company in 2000, but, in 2015, we acquired a digital marketing agency that we are continuously working to grow. We embrace technologies and help our clients build efficiencies within their businesses.
How has your company culture evolved as EMPIST has grown?
EMPIST has always been a family company and continues to grow as one. We work in an incredibly collaborative environment among colleagues that are also friends and real-life family. With every year we build our family as our company goals propel continued growth across our different departments. We aspire to keep an open, communicative and fun culture that fosters a family environment that works hard for our clients, who we consider members of our extended family.
What are your primary goals for EMPIST?
To make EMPIST one of the best places to work while never losing sight of the fact that we are in a relationship business. For us, customer satisfaction sits at the core of every decision we make. If it’s not good for our customers, it’s not good for us. We want to be the best IT Partner a client can have.
Where do you see EMPIST in two years? Five? Ten?
EMPIST will continue to focus on delivering the highest caliber of service and support to our clients. That will never change. However, with the acquisition of our Digital Agency, we have begun to evolve into an organization that can truly impact our clients’ business processes by understanding their needs and the tools that they use and then developing solutions that help them do their jobs more quickly and efficiently. As we’ve built out our development team, EMPIST has begun to focus on building new products. The next decade will see us diversify into new brands and products that will take on a life of their own. One of the products that is going to market next month is www.Deskware.com. We are super excited about this product as it has been one of the most impactful changes to our organization we’ve made in years. It helps us run all of our service delivery units. EMPIST will also continue to grow our teams abroad and secure our global presence over the next 5 – 10 years.
What’s the No. 1 thing on your to-do list?
Currently, our organization is focused on aligning all of our top level and individual objectives across every member of our team. We are creating our OKRs (objectives and key results) and building processes and systems to analyze our progress and success. OKRs have become central to how we plan to move forward as an organization. One of our key OKRs is to launch and grow Deskware.
In your opinion, what are some of the pros and cons of being an Illinois business?
With so many incubators sprouting up, Illinois has become a significant hub for technology within the US. To be a part of the explosive growth in technology here has been incredible. We don’t see many cons of doing business in Illinois because, with two established offices in Greece, we see things from a global perspective and not merely a local one. With that said, we are proud to call Chicago our home base.
What are the most significant challenges you face as you scale your business?
The biggest challenge we face as we scale is how to continue to remain customer-centric and not lose sight of the basic tenants upon which we built our company and our reputation – family first and our staff, as well as our clients, are part of the EMPIST Family. We want to keep our family feel as our staff and client base grows. To do this, we constantly grapple with how to stay relevant and how we can continue not only to attract but retain the best of the best in our industry. One way is to find others like us who have a passion for technology and helping others succeed.
