Northwestern MSIT part-time student Cory Bretsch talks about his recent opportunity to connect with and learn from top tech executives.
Cory Bretsch is an active-duty computer and network technician for the U.S. Coast Guard who is responsible for the maintenance and smooth operation of all IT systems on the western side of Lake Michigan.
He also is a part-time student in the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program at Northwestern.
Bretsch enrolled because he ultimately wants to land a job that allows him to manage IT infrastructure at the enterprise level. He recently was able to gain priceless advice on how to make that transition at the first ever CxO auction hosted by Techforward, the philanthropic foundation of the Illinois Technology Association (ITA). The event was co-sponsored by Northwestern's MSIT program, and Bretsch was one of four students who won a drawing for free tickets to the event.
