Josh Davidson, Principal and Co-Founder, Prime TSR @Prime_TSR
We’re a digital transformation consultancy and we “Prime” our clients for success. We take an outcome-focused approach with our clients and provide guided delivery of modern solutions through the integration of legacy tools and core systems.
In 25 words or less, what is Prime TSR all about?
Our purpose is to help our clients and partners become more competitive in their industries through the modernization of their existing technologies.
What problem do you solve and how do you solve it better than the competition?
We find that other organizations in our space primarily focus on solution implementation and not challenging their clients on what outcomes they're trying to achieve with those solutions. We are methodical as we start working with clients about asking questions that help us understand the use cases behind the work we’re preparing to take on. This approach allows us to use those business outcomes as a compass and ensures we arrive at the intended destination once the work is done.
How did you get started?
We got started 6 years ago with a laser focus on helping organizations solve their most challenging performance and scalability issues with technology. As we grew, organizations demanded a more comprehensive approach to modernization, resulting in a shift to business performance through digital transformation.
How has your company culture evolved as Prime TSR has grown?
Being a small firm that tackles enterprise problems we’ve needed to maintain a highly collaborative environment. As we’ve scaled, our leadership has continued this trend by involving everyone in projects to make sure we put our organization’s best thoughts forward to solve our clients’ biggest and riskiest challenges.
Where do you see Prime TSR in two years? Five? Ten?
Over the years we’ve managed our growth consistently. That success has meant earning awards in Consulting Magazine and recently making the Inc 5000 list. Our projections show that we will double in size in the next two years given the urgency we’re seeing from organizations to establish cloud-enabled solutions, application, and predictive analytics.
Why does Prime TSR call Chicago its home?
If you're driving through Chicago, you can feel the explosive growth and expansion at every corner. Similarly, the tech culture is becoming more sophisticated with world class talent and global organizations setting up a home base here. We thrive on being part of such a robust business leadership community, a growing tech hub, and amazing opportunities to solve increasingly challenging business problems.
What was the ‘aha’ moment when you realized Prime TSR made it?
It was the first time a client said, ‘We couldn’t have done this without you’. That moment became our north star for measuring our success.
How does Prime TSR interact with the Chicago community?
We are extremely passionate about our support for Genesys Works, an organization that provides pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences and impactful relationships. You can also find us at tech meetups and we take pride in supporting local startup entrepreneurs through mentorship opportunities.
What is the top reason employees would say they love working for Prime TSR?
In our recent engagement survey, the vast majority of our team emphasized our focus on collaboration and shared learning as a unique reason why they stick with us. As with most professional services companies, people are our most important asset. Keeping the team engaged on interesting work with interesting people is our primary concern.
What’s the coolest perk Prime TSR’s office has?
A large kitchen with a drop-down projector for video games is a big hit, literally. Also, while most companies are doing summer hours, for us, Fridays are the ‘office day’ where the whole team comes together to discuss our week’s peaks and pits and end the week with a little bit of fun.
