This year's program was the first-ever exclusively all-female program in its decade long history
CHICAGO, IL - The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) held its tenth annual ITA Tech Challenge programming and skills competition on Friday, October 18.
Of the 165 who took the initial challenge, 40 qualifying students accepted and traveled to downtown Chicago to take the Final Challenge and compete for the first place $10,000 prize. In the Final Challenge, the finalists were divided into teams while collaborating with mentors to solve a social impact case study around cyber bullying.
"ITA has been looking for ways to differentiate, expand and evolve the impact of our Tech Challenge," said Trisha Degg, ITA VP Talent Programs and Operations. "With a diversity charge in mind, we transformed this venerable program through six months of research and focus groups to be a first-of-its-kind, unique and empowering opportunity for female-identifying students here in Chicago."
