In 25 words or less, what is RGP all about?
RGP is a global consulting firm that enables rapid business outcomes by bringing together the right people to create transformative change.
What problem do you solve and how do you solve it better than the competition?
As a human capital partner for our clients, we specialize in solving today’s most pressing business problems across the enterprise in the areas of Business Transformation, Governance, Risk and Compliance and Technology and Digital Innovation. Our primary areas of expertise include Finance & Accounting, IT, Project Management, Change Management, Controls and Processes.
We put people at the core of solution design and intended outcomes. When working with clients, RGP’s team considers the nature of their business problem, market dynamics and the culture of their organization to bring together the right people, who in that specific context, can deliver—and deliver well. Whether solving their challenge requires subject matter expertise to round out an existing team or full-scale advisory where we deliver an end-to-end solution – and every combination in between – we are their Future of Work partner.
How did you get started?
RGP was founded in 1996 to help finance executives with operational needs and special projects created by workforce gaps.
What are your primary goals for RGP?
At RGP, our goals are to to attract and retain highly qualified and experienced consultants and connect them to meaningful opportunities, where they can that maximize their skillsets and produce amazing work that helps clients and RGP grow. We would like to continue to deliver for our clients, expanding our work and growing our client base. Lastly, we seek to continue to grow through strategic acquisitions. RGP recently acquired Accretive Solutions and Veracity Consulting Group.
Best company/team outing in company’s history? Why?
At RGP, we operate with a people-first mentality. We like to have fun while working hard at the same time. We have annual team outings that are fun and promote comradery. Worth noting… 40% of our Chicago team have worked for RGP for nearly a decade… a testament to our positive culture.
This past summer, our Chicago office celebrated the retirement of our longest standing director – he was with RGP for over 20 years! The entire Chicagoland team as well as visitors from other offices, attended a Cubs game on one of the Wrigleyville Rooftops. As you can tell by the pictures, we had a blast, and the Cubs won!
Also, we more recently had a retreat for our entire Chicago team that entailed spending two nights at an Old Town Single Family Home/VRBO together to plan for 2020. We were able to enjoy each other’s company, play games, while also working to plan for our team’s success in the coming year.
In your opinion, what are some of the pros and cons of being an Illinois business?
RGP has two offices in the Chicagoland market (Downtown & Oak Brook), which gives us quite an advantage when supporting local clients and recruiting local talent. With the type of talent available in Illinois, it is no wonder why companies continue to move their operations to the Chicagoland area. In particular, we are seeing many companies moving their offices back to the Fulton Market area in Downtown Chicago which goes to show how the city is thriving and attracting the best of the best! At RGP, we are ready and willing to assist companies with any of their business needs during these exciting times.
What are the top reasons employees would say they love working for RGP?
At RGP, we are committed to creating an inspirational place for people to do their best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies and qualities that set our team apart.
RGP provides employees with the opportunity to learn and contribute on many different and challenging initiatives. RGP is also able to provide flexible hours and work arrangements, coupled with a professional culture that offers competitive wages and benefits.
